A relatively small number of homes within the neighborhood have been annexed by The City of Decatur, though the majority are currently part of unincorporated Dekalb County. It is between Memorial Drive, Columbia Drive, and Candler Road. Midway Road runs through the neighborhood.

Nearby private schools include The Friends School of Atlanta and the Waldorf School of Atlanta. The nearby Museum School recently opened as well. Agnes Scott College and Columbia Theological Seminary School are close by.
In Atlanta and Decatur, most people find it necessary to have a car. For those that can get where they're going by bus, there is a MARTA Bus Stop right on Midway Woods Rd near Deerwood Drive.
For recreation, also at the corner of Midway Woods and Deerwood Drive (1301 Deerwood Drive) is another one of Dekalb County's Parks. Dearborn Park has 7 acres with a basketball court, multi-use court, picnic pavilions, running streams, and playground. Dekalb County has a great park system. It seems like there is one convenient to just about every neighborhood.
There are a couple of new home subdivisions being planned for the area, one on Midway Rd which is to be named Midway Commons and one on the corner of Midway Rd and Candler Rd, Parkside Overlook.
